Henry Campsie

Henry Campsie was the inspiration behind the Closing of the Gates, it was at his behest that the Gates were closed against the forces of James II at the beginning of the Siege. He was severely wounded when he and others secured the City Magazine and armoury. It is presumed that Henry was the first person to shed blood in the Great Siege.

This brave lad is the only Apprentice Boy to have a Club named after him
