This was the man who went to London at the start of the Siege to obtain the help of King William, he brought back the commission enabling Lundy to be made Governor of Londonderry. A lawyer, of Knockmany, Co. Tyrone, he was a very loyal supporter of King William and supported the Closing of the Gates, unlike many other professional men of the city. He was elected MP for Londonderry in appreciation of his Bravery and Leadership during the Siege
